Today, I received the Kreative Blogger award from Yvonne.
Here are the rules for the award:
1. Copy the award to your site
2. Link to the person from whom you received the award
3. Nominate 7 other bloggers
4. Link to the award recipients on your blog
5. Leave a message on the blogs you nominate
These awards are always tough on me, as I have to choose. There are so many bloggers on my Bloglines roll that when I see a new post is up, I find myself smiling. Narrowing it down to seven just doesn't seem possible, but here it is.
The Rainey Sisters (Sally D.C. & Susan Minnesota). From sock monkey ball gowns to fabulous Bohus sweaters and matching mannequins for photo shoots, Susan and Sally have great knitting reading and photography. I always look forward to their posts - there's no fluff here, no grasping for something to blog about. Just always informative and creative stuff. Thank you!
Anne Hanson of Knitspot. I have thoroughly enjoyed every pattern of Anne's I've touched. I've even had some end-of-project depression on some because I enjoyed the knitting so much. Anne's lace I enjoy, from socks to Man Lace to shawls and stoles. Enough to keep me interested and not so much to frustrate me. And I end up with a piece of femininity I can enjoy - something missing in my professional life, as wearing scrubs and working in a man's world doesn't lend much support to being soft and feminine, but I can get away with lace socks and wearing a Little Nothing scarf to work to bolster that neglected side of my life.
Lene of Dances With Wool. From Finland, Lene has amazing winter photoshoots of her knitted projects. She does wonderful whimsical art, awesome embroidery and is one of the people in the world who just has a perfect sense of style and design. I always enjoy reading her blog.
Ruth of Knitting on Impulse takes great nature photos, digitalizes them and then uses the color analysis from the digitalized photo to dye yarn. She goes a step further, and demonstrates how different fibers take colors differently, and she decreases the contrast for the laceweight yarn in the same colorway so it doesn't conflict with the lace patterning. Great stuff!
Kelly of Celtic Cast On is a young wife, immigrant to New Brunswick from Ireland. She and her husband, Moose, now have a farm and German shepherds. Moose does the photography, while Kelly models her finished projects. In the past year, she has had an amazing number of knitting firsts shown on her blog. Her knitting is maturing and blooming, and it is modeled and photographed exceptionally well. Kelly & tried to meet up at Common Ground Fair a couple of years ago, and were thwarted by neither of us having a cell signal... One day, we will meet and have a cuppa!
Josette of Farm Witch. Josette lives on a off-the-grid farm in Maine. They use solar supplemented with a generator for the well, burn wood for heat, and are able to avoid the chaos and stress of more populated areas for the most part. Josette makes AMAZING spinning batts. The resulting depth of color is incredibly fun and rewarding. She is on my list of people I hope to meet in person finally at SPA in Freeport at the end of the month.
Amy of Spunky Eclectic has to be here. Amy is one of the most amazing people I've had the priviledge to meet. She is an Indie dyer in Lisbon, ME. She home schools Boogie Baby and 8-going-on-20. She is an active "chatterbox" on Ravelry with her own fan club and followers. Amy has a gregarious personality and can engage anyone in an enjoyable conversation. She has an art background, which makes her colorways dance and thrill. Even club colorways I wasn't sure about have brought much pleasure to me, and have wound up being amongst my favorites. She spins, knits, designs - and has a book coming out on spinning through Interweave this summer. Thank you, Amy, for being amongst those I call a friend.
And I have to make mention of blogless Manise. I must meet you this year at SPA. I thank you for being worried enough about my blog absence to do some detective work on Ravelry and contact me. It meant a great deal!
There are so many others on my list.
Hi and thank you for reading and thank you for your kind words!
