I'd love to see photos of the other knit stockings when you pull them out. I, too, have visions of all these handknit stockings lining my mantle . . .

I really like the look of the bulky weight yarn too. I've never done entrelac, much less an entrelac sock, but the heel will look great in green. Are you still in Baltimore? That's where I am...nice to "meet" local knitters.

The bullky yarn shows the colors much better. It will be so much easier to do the heel and toe with green and in stockinette, or perhaps for the heel, eye of the partridge.
