OK. I promised photos from after the quiet opening as compared to the pre-opening ones earlier in the weekend. Here they are!
The coffee bar will be sporting
three flavors of coffee, roasted locally in Veazie, Maine. More yarns are coming, and the entire embroidery/crewel area is yet to arrive. The teaching/knitting room which is a rejuvenated sunporch promises to be the heart of the shop and an area anyone would want to spend time in.
The Mission Falls reportedly jumped out of their box and on
to the built in china cupboard in this 1836 farmhouse..... I can see a Panopticon cartoon depicting that action, can't you?
Michele, the owner, found three gigantic spinning bobbins at the thrift store (and a great Icelandic style sweater) for ambiance. And Berla, who works at Fiberphilia I swear must not sleep. She went home one
evening and called the next morning to say she was going to be late because she needed to stop to buy curtain rods. She had gone home and overnight created swiss dot double rod pocket curtains for the shop - perfectly in keeping with the
vintage of the house, and hiding the Thai restaurant side next door nicely. Michele has surrounded herself with some very talented and amazing employees!
Hi Michele!!!!! WOW! what an accomplishment - I wish this shop were in Baltimore. Everything looks so beautiful and cozy and what a cool place to learn too!

Thank you for the wonderful pictures and description. I'm Michele's mother-in-law and live too far away to be there for the opening. We're in Baltimore, MD. I so appreciate seeing how the house progressed and how beautiful it looks now. I know it's going to be successful. It can't miss. I only wish I were there to work in the shop.
