I am borrowing this Christmas Meme from Teresa C (that's Campbell, Margene) who borrowed it from Stephanie who borrowed it from Carrie who borrowed it.... yeah, you got it. 'Tis the season so here goes:
- Wrapping paper or gift bags? I used to love the paper with crisp folds and pretty bows. Then I became a mother, and I hated all the trash it generated. So, I started making fabric gift bags from after Christmas sale seasonal fabric, incorporating ribbons into the side seam, and setting them far enough down the side that the top makes a ruffle. All the boxing, and packaging goes before Christmas, and I just fold the bags up for next year.
- Real or artificial tree? Real. And it has to be gotten with snow on the ground.
- When do you put up the tree? Any time after Dec. 16, which is my son's birthday. I try to keep Christmas out of his birthday.
- When do you take it down? New Year's Day.
- Do you like eggnog? Not particularly.
- Favorite gift received as a child? My koala bear from Australia.
- Do you have a nativity scene? Yes.
- Hardest person to buy for? The man who has everything.
- Easiest person to buy for? My dogs.
- Worst Christmas present you ever got? A moo-moo from my mother sized at least eight sizes too big. Plus, it reeked of smoke smell.
- Mail or email Christmas cards? .I've given up. They beat me.
- Favorite Christmas movie? The Santa Clause. I used to watch it over and over during December.
- When do you start shopping for Christmas? Depends on my work schedule and how tired I am. I don't enjoy crowds.
- Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Nope.
- Favorite thing to eat on Christmas? Cheesecake.
- Clear lights or colored on the tree? Clear
- Favorite Christmas song? Little Drummer Boy
- Travel at Christmas or stay home? Stay at home.
- Can you name all of Santa's Reindeer? Maybe.
- Angel or star on top of tree? Angel, and only very simple small ones.
- Open presents Christmas Eve or morning. Morning.
- Most annoying thing this time of year? Crowds.
- Do you decorate your tree in any theme or color? Nope. Lots of wooden and non-fragile things, the sort of eclectic tree one has to walk around and keep looking because there are lots of things tucked in all over the place.
- What do you leave for Santa? It used to be brownies and milk, but as the kids have gotten older, beer and veggies appear sometimes.
