Those of you who follow Kim Kaslow of The Woolen Rabbit and Anne Hanson's Knitspot already know about the gorgeous Marie Antoinette socks in the continuing bee and beehive theme. Kim is selling kits with her Tupelo Honey colorway - a gold color with greens, browns, and oranges peeking through. Even though I am definitely not a yellow person, this yarn colorway is exceptional.
Since Anne specifically stated the bees pattern was not reversible for those of us who knit toe up socks, I am doing these concurrently on two different sets of double points. I have in the past suffered badly from SSS, and frequently socks languished around long enough my gauge changed and the right and left socks were not the same in size. I recently started doing socks this way - when I finally got two sets of socks sized needles that I like to use. I am hoping it takes care of the unmatching part!
I love this pattern. I love the yarn. I love the total effect. The details are perfecton - even the small amount of honeycomb built into the cuff edging! I am glad gift knitting is over so I can finish these. And there are many more projects burning a hole in my heel waiting to leap onto the needles!
