This barn I found in Palmyra, ME also. It is obviously old and neglected to some degree. It is weathered, paintless and missing some siding. Amazingly, though, the ridgeline is straight, and the roof appears to not be in too bad shape. This one may not be the best place to weather out a Nor'easter with its wind but it is pretty high on the character scale.
I wish I had shots of barns in Maryland while I lived there - it seemed a lot of them there had one side a level lower than the other side. One would have outside doors to stall doors, generally with a covered area there to shelter the person with mucking duty. They were high on the character scale too.
